Background
Jaspaul was hired by AOL (UK) Limited as a Web Producer to work across the European AOL sites and develop consumer facing online content areas for the AOL UK Audience Business. Involved in all phases of production from concept to implementation.

- Accessibility: Clear descriptive alt and title tags, with low coding
- Search engine optimisation (SEO): Clean simple coded pages with calls to external CSS/Javascript. Clear use of metadata and content and optimised layout.
- Work collaboratively with the Editorial teams and commercial partners to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Work to the highest standards of front-end web development with respect to adherence to w3c compliant code and UK accessibility requirements.

AOL WAGSs matching game
AOL WAGs area is a special interest feature to engage with Celebrity focused customers. I was tasked with developing an interactive game to increase page views by offering a fun, viral destination for AOL’s web audience. This game was written entirely in javascript and tested to function across all major browsers.

Canada(re)
The Canada(re) site is a tourism board developed to encourage users to visit Canada. I was tasked with developing the site in CSS, w3c compliant code. I also coded a ‘picture slideshow’ in pure Javscript. The slideshow, automatically grabs all the pictures in a ‘ul’ list, randomly initialising them into a slideshow. The result is clean, web friendly code and the entire javascript can even be sourced in a external file.

AOL Tools and Services
Website to promote the services provided by AOL (UK). The website was developed using Javascript to provide a animated tab rollover and hide/show various content. TCL Server side code was also used to change content depending on the browser or type of customer.

Christmas wish list
Disney Christmas wishlist is a microsite requested to allow children to pick a dvd and print out a letter to Santa. I was tasked with developing an interactive page to increase page views by offering a fun, viral destination for AOL’s web audience. This site was written in javascript and server side TCL to grab variables from the URL.

Jungle Book microsite
Promotion of the 40th Anniversary Platinum Edition DVD of The Jungle Book Disney. The page was developed to support the publishing system and allow editors to populate the page with content and pictures.
Additional items which were setup is a Jungle Book game built in Flash and a competition which saves user information in a database.

Lost for words
The ‘Lost for Words’ is a microsite requested by Channel 4 to promote a new program and the advantages of encouraging children to read books. The page was developed to support the publishing system and allow editors to populate the page with content and pictures.
Additional items which were setup/pages were voting tool to allow users to rate their favourite books and post comments which are all stored in a database.

Ratatouille
‘Ratatouille’ promotion of Disney’s new very exciting movie about a rat who erm likes cooking. I was tasked with developing the site in CSS, w3c compliant and to support the compatibility of the page with the publishing system and two different channels: entertainment and kids.

AOL PIctures slideshow
A plugin to promote the services of AOL Pictures across the site in a interactive and fun manor. The AOL Pictures slideshow uses the AOL Developers API to communicate and retrieve pictures depending on the content of the site.
Built using AJAX and script.aculo.us to allow a live interactive feel to the widget. The entire page is coded in mind to be SEO and W3c compliant. Therefore the Javascript is built to be 100% portable and can be stored in a external file.
